Project description:
The aim of the LAST MILE project is to create a base for implementation of a regional flexible transport system in the tourism regions (in our case in the Košice region) that must be effective in terms of sources and financing and will serve not only tourists but also inhabitants of the tourism regions, will utilise existing structure and innovative technology at the same time. The availability of information and its integration into tourist and transport information systems is another important aspect that the project will address.
Project will be carried out in 2 phases:
Phase 1 (30 months) – analysis of the technical state-of-the-art of our regional transport system including existing solutions of flexible transport for the "last mile" and analysis of the national legal, institutional and economic framework conditions for flexible transport system and identification of gaps and barriers for implementation; preparation of action plan based on lessons learned from the experience exchange with necessary involvement of stakeholders groups.
Phase 2 (24 months) – implementation and monitoring of proposed measured.

- tourists who will utilise the improved accessibility to remote tourist destinations by flexible transport system
- local inhabitants who will be able to utilise integrated solutions in remote tourist destinations.
Last but not least, the project will promote the flexible public transport system in the region.
